Intern: Cyber Security Intern (Summer 2025)
Arconic IT (Cyber Security) Team
Location: Pittsburgh PA
Primary Responsibilities
Follow and execute directives issued by cybersecurity leads and senior employees
Support day-to-day activities performed by the cybersecurity team
Learn to manage tools and solutions implemented throughout the organization
Work with senior members of the team to learn basic first-line threat assessment and response tasks and progress toward independence after proving competence
Key Objectives
Gain fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
Assist in supporting incident response, security awareness and security engineering teams
Attain proven proficiency with cybersecurity tools and perform front-end troubleshooting and general triage Add value to the company through key IT project and task deliverables
Communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of people, via face to face, over the phone, via email, via Microsoft Teams and in writing
Basic Qualifications
Credits toward a bachelor’s degree in IS/IT or similar, from an accredited institution
Basic understanding of algorithms, systems analysis and design, database concepts, and networking concepts
Must have an expected graduation date in late 2025, Spring/Summer of 2026, or, Spring/Summer of 2027
Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Current cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
Demonstrable strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated strong understanding of algorithms, systems analysis and design, database concepts, and networking concepts
Prior work experience in an IT role
