AECOM is seeking a Highway Engineering Intern to be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2025.

Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. As an Engineering Intern, you will gain experience working as part of a team on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area. You will build analytic and design skills, create designs, perform calculations, and draft construction plans under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide support to the roadway, structures, and traffic engineering groups on highway design projects.
The intern will work under the direction of engineers to support design staff on engineering calculations, quantity calculations, cost estimates, construction plans, and supporting materials.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree an engineering field or related with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
Must have completed 1 year of study in the applicable program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD familiarity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills.
Valid U.S. Driver's License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Pittsburgh, PA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Pittsburgh, PA on a scheduled basis.
